Client Website Setup Guide

Everything you need to set up your domain, GitHub and Vercel accounts correctly when Vercel is the recommended hosting option — while keeping ownership of your website.

Step 01

Before you start

You own the accounts, billing and website. Landiqo receives only the access needed to do the work. Use each platform’s invite or share feature. Never send passwords, payment card details, recovery codes or 2FA codes.

Keep control without slowing down.

Invited access means Landiqo can work inside the right account without taking ownership away from you. You can review or remove access later.

Step 02

What you will need

  • A business or personal email address you control
  • A mobile phone or authenticator app
  • A payment method for Vercel Pro billing and future domain renewal
  • Your preferred domain name and one or two alternatives
  • Landiqo access details supplied in your Fiverr order or project message
  • Around 20 minutes

Step 03

Choosing your domain setup

Option A: new domain

Use Vercel Pro and register the domain through Vercel where eligible.

Eligible Pro teams can currently receive a domain free for the first year. It still renews after that at the normal renewal price, and keeping hosting and domain management together can simplify setup. The client remains the account and billing owner.

Domain offers, eligible extensions and renewal prices can change. Always check the live Vercel terms before purchase.

Option B: already own a domain

Keep it with your current registrar.

Whether it is Namecheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, IONOS or another registrar, the process is broadly the same: add the domain in Vercel, copy Vercel’s exact DNS records into your registrar, then return to Vercel to verify.

Every registrar uses different menus. Follow your registrar’s own DNS instructions. If you use Namecheap, see the example below.

Step 04

Namecheap-specific example

If your domain is already with Namecheap: open Domain List, choose Manage, then Advanced DNS and Host Records. Enter the exact records shown in your Vercel project, then verify back inside Vercel.

Do not copy DNS records from old tutorials or screenshots.

Always use the live values shown inside your own Vercel project.

Step 05

Create and secure your GitHub account

  1. Go to GitHub and create a client-owned account.
  2. Verify the email address.
  3. GitHub Free is sufficient for a typical Landiqo client website.
  4. Enable 2FA and keep recovery details private.

A GitHub repository is the private project folder that stores the website code and its change history.

Step 06

Create the client-owned repository

Create the repository inside the client’s GitHub account, use a clear name, and choose Private unless it is intentionally public. If Landiqo is importing an existing website project, avoid pre-populating it with a README, .gitignore or licence where that could introduce merge conflicts.

You keep the source code and history.

Landiqo can update the website without needing your login.

Step 07

Invite Landiqo to GitHub

In your repository, use Settings → Collaborators / Manage access → Add people. Enter the Landiqo username or email supplied in your project or order message.

  • You remain the owner.
  • Landiqo gets repository access.
  • No password sharing is needed.
  • Access can be removed later.

Step 08

Create Vercel using your GitHub account

  1. Go to Vercel and sign up or continue with GitHub.
  2. Authorise your client-owned GitHub account.
  3. Finish the profile using your client or business details.
  4. Review the Pro plan before deploying a commercial website.

Using the same GitHub account keeps the code and deployment ownership trail with you, and makes importing the repository easier.

Step 09

Why Vercel Pro

For paid commercial client websites, Vercel Pro is the normal recommended route. It is currently $20/month and includes a $20 monthly usage credit, automatic HTTPS, professional hosting, automatic scaling, usage monitoring and spend controls. Eligible domains can be free for the first year.

Step 10

Give Landiqo direct Vercel access only when needed

You remain the Owner. Use least-privileged access: Developer is the safer starting role for normal deployment or domain work, while broader Member access should only be used when specifically required. Review any seat cost shown by Vercel before confirming.

For simple projects, Landiqo may work through GitHub.

Step 11

Connect GitHub to Vercel

  1. Select Add New → Project.
  2. Connect or authorise GitHub if prompted.
  3. Select the client-owned website repository.
  4. Review the detected framework and build settings.
  5. Add environment variables only when specifically supplied.
  6. Deploy.

After this, Git pushes can trigger automatic website deployments.

Step 12

Connect your domain to Vercel

  1. Open the Vercel project and choose Settings → Domains.
  2. Add your domain and read Vercel’s exact DNS instructions.
  3. Open DNS settings at your current registrar and enter those records.
  4. Return to Vercel and verify.

Using Namecheap? Follow the example above. Using another registrar? Follow its own DNS documentation; the principle is the same but labels differ.

Step 13

Final handover checklist

  • Domain is owned by the client or business.
  • Domain renewal settings have been reviewed.
  • GitHub account is client-owned and its email is verified.
  • GitHub 2FA is enabled and a private website repository exists.
  • Landiqo has repository collaborator access.
  • Vercel account or team is client-owned and its commercial plan has been reviewed.
  • The Vercel access route is agreed and the GitHub repository is imported.
  • The domain is connected using live Vercel DNS instructions and opens over HTTPS.
  • No passwords, payment details, 2FA codes or recovery codes have been shared.

Step 14

Troubleshooting

I cannot see the GitHub repository in Vercel

Check the GitHub connection and the Vercel GitHub App repository permissions.

Vercel shows an extra charge when I invite Landiqo

Review the displayed seat price before confirming. For simple projects, Landiqo can work through GitHub and guide you through the Vercel dashboard instead.

I cannot edit DNS records

Check which nameservers your domain uses, then follow your registrar’s own DNS instructions.

My domain still does not work

Re-check the exact host, type and value shown by Vercel, then allow time for DNS propagation.

Vercel shows an SSL or certificate issue

Confirm the domain DNS is correct first. Vercel normally provisions HTTPS after the domain is configured correctly.

I do not know which Vercel role to give Landiqo

Use the least-privileged role that completes the work. Developer is normally the starting point; use broader access only when required.
